Next Week: World Mission Second Collection

There will be a second collection next week for World Mission Sunday.

This year marks the 100th anniversary of World Mission Sunday. In 1926, Pope Pius XI established World Mission Sunday, and the first worldwide collection took place the following year, in October 1927.

World Mission Sunday invites Catholics everywhere to recognize our shared responsibility for the evangelization of the world and to express our unity through prayer and generosity.

Donations are split between the Society of the Propagation of the Faith (91%) and the Catholic Near East Welfare Association (9%).

Eparchial Pastoral Appeal (Formerly the Bishop’s Appeal)

“While they were talking and discussing together, Jesus himself drew near and went with them.” (Luke 24:15)

This weekend marks the beginning of the 2026 Melkite Catholic Pastoral Appeal, “Accompanied by the Risen Lord.”

On the road to Emmaus, Jesus joined two disciples as they walked, listened to their concerns, and helped them understand what had taken place. That same Risen Lord continues to walk with us today, especially as we face the challenges and opportunities before our Church.

The Pastoral Appeal is one way we come together to care for our Melkite Catholic Church throughout the United States. It helps provide for the formation of our future priests and deacons, religious education, and the needs of our parishes and missions.

We invite every family to prayerfully consider participating in this year’s Appeal. No gift is too small, and every contribution helps us continue this important work. May we always remember that, wherever our journey takes us, we are Accompanied by the Risen Lord.
